Math Emporium: Higher Education's Silver Bullet
Wednesday, January 25, 2012 - 14:49 | By: Becky Anderson | Category: Press
The primary reason many students do not succeed in the [traditional math] course is that they do not actually do the problems. As a population, they generally do not spend enough time with the material, and this is why they fail at a very high rate. Learn more about this in the full article by Carol Twigg, President and CEO of the National Center for Academic Transformation, which was published in Change Magazine, in the May–June 2011 issue.

PERT + Pearson
Tuesday, June 14, 2011 - 22:44 | By: Becky Anderson | Category: Product Updates
Does your state have standards in place for what students should know at the conclusion of a particular course or sequence of courses? We at Pearson have been working to align a number of our courses and textbooks with the outcomes determined by states for higher education. For example, Florida has developed the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) as the primary placement assessment used by The Florida College System. We now have four different MyMathLab courses that include the PERT Standards, for easy instructor assessment of student understanding of the objectives.
